Tutoring in History, Literature, and Writing
I’m a tutor of academic writing, creative writing, literature, and history with a decade of tutoring experience.
I have graduate-level training in English & American literature, social studies education, and creative writing. I am also a certified teacher in social studies, grades 7-12, in the state of New York. I am passionate about history, literature, and all humanities and social studies subjects. I am also a creative writer and love to edit and give feedback on other writers' work.
In my tutoring lessons, students can expect to come to me with whatever they need help with in their English literature, history, social studies, or creative writing classes. I work with both high school and undergraduate students to improve writing, reading, and critical thinking skills for humanities subjects. I also work with students ranging from middle school to adult learners who are interested in getting feedback on their creative writing to submit to literary journals or creative writing contests or simply to improve as a writer.
Examples of middle and high school courses I am qualified to tutor include 7th-12th grade English Language Arts, Global History I and II, American History, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP United States History, AP European History, AP World History, and AP African American Studies. I am also qualified to tutor undergraduate-level college courses in English, History, Comparative Literature, and Creative Writing departments. Knowledgeable and outstanding tutor
Emmaline is very easy to work with. She focuses the entire time on working towards a goal for each session. This is important because in a philosophy course, the tutor can easily get distracted and go off the rails. She will start the work, not just wait for the student. Emmaline helped me to get a very good grade in the class. She doesn't change the student's arguments or views.
